Become a Member
Recreation Facility Personnel has been providing training and setting the standards for Alberta's arenas, swimming pools, parks and sportsfields since 1978. With over 1,200 members actively involved in the day-to-day operation and management of Alberta's recreation facilities, we remain on the leading edge of facility maintenance.

Our Associate Members provide valuable products and services to recreation facilities and contribute to the development of the recreation industry.

In addition, AARFP offers technical support by phone or email during business hours for pretty much any kind of operational situation that comes up. If we can’t provide the answer, we give you the contact info for someone, usually one of the instructors or an Associate member, so you can contact them yourself.

Awards
Five Student Achievement Awards are presented annually to AARFP members, and are based on top marks for the year. The recipients receive a plaque, free registration to the AARFP conference to accept the award, and a cheque for $250.

William Metcalfe Award
Recognizes an individual, group or organization that has contributed significantly to recreation locally, provincially or nationally. Through their commitment, the award recipient has made a demonstrated difference in recreation, facility operation, management or design.

Bruce Fowlow Memorial Facility Operator of the Year Award
To recognize an individual member or members who are currently operating or managing a facility. Through their day to day actions, the award recipient(s) shows leadership and commitment to recreation in their community.

Don Moore Scholarship
The Don Moore Scholarship is available to any Alberta student completing any year of studies in any recognized post-secondary educational institution within the province. The student must be enrolled in a program offering administrative courses in the operation of recreational facilities.

The Alberta Association of Recreation Facility Personnel is a provincial organization dedicated to providing excellence in training and professional development for individuals involved in the operation of recreation facilities.

Individual Membership
    Any individual employed or interested in the field of
    recreation facility management or operation.
    2012 Fee: $80/yr

Associate Membership
    Any agency or commercial organization having related
    objectives and goals to the Association or provide
    services and/or products to AARFP members.

Facility Membership
    We are now offering single Facility Memberships. It is
    available to public and private recreation facilities. This
    allows five facility staff to become members for one year
    for the price of $307 and additional facility memberships
    in increments of $307 for each group of five staff.

AARFP has developed Logbooks that are practical, easy to use and allow you to record information and store your records in an orderly and efficient manner.

Order Your Logbooks Today!
We all know the importance of showing due diligence in our operation. Did you know that you have to keep records on your operation for at least 7 years? If you don't have the proper documents and a lawsuit arises, you will have problems. To this end, R.F.P. is selling logbooks.

We've taken information from several arenas and pools from around Alberta and developed logbooks that are practical, easy to use and allow you to record information and store your records in an orderly and efficient manner. Each book is full of tips to assist you in your operation.

We have logbooks for:
    • Ice Thickness
    • Refrigeration Readings
    • Swimming Pool readings and maintenance.

Manual For Sale!
The Association has developed a new manual for our members to assist them from the planning to the finishing stages in the construction of "Ball Diamonds". This is an excellent resource for communities or volunteer organizations if they in the process of constructing new ball diamonds or renovating their existing ball parks.
